The Cowgate Dental Surgery offers its professional services to anyone, regardless if you are eligible for NHS treatments or pay privately.

Andrew studied dentistry at Kaunsas Medical University in Lithuania and graduated in 2003. In 2009, he moved to the UK and joined Visioncall Dental Practice (later to become Cowgate Dental Practice) that same year. He’s been the principal dentist in the practice since then, and is committed to serving his patients – he offers both private and NHS treatments. Andrew became a dentist after – like many of us – being scared of the dentist as a young boy. That experience made him determined to become a dentist so he could make dentistry a better experience for patients rather than something to fear. When Andrew isn’t busy in the practice he enjoys target rifle shooting. In 2014, as part of the county team, he won gold in the inter-county championship. Andrew also speaks four languages.
Barbara studied dentistry at Silesia Medical Academy, Katowice in Poland and graduated in 2001. She has been working in Scotland since 2005 in both NHS and private practice. She worked at Visioncall Dental Practice (later to become Cowgate Dental Surgery) in Kirkintilloch from 2009 till 2014. She studied with Professor Paul Tipton in Manchester (2014-2015) to gain the Postgraduate Certificate in Restorative Dentistry. She is a member of British Academy of Restorative Dentistry. She is also qualified in cosmetic orthodontics. In her free time she enjoys swimming and long walks with her daughters.
Elaine’s been with the team since the beginning, when the practice opened in 2009. Elaine started as a dental nurse, and through her excellent team-leading abilities and entrepreneurial skills was promoted to practice manager at the beginning of 2012. She’s got a wealth of knowledge when it comes to running a dental practice and is excited to bring the best new services to Cowgate Dentistry’s patients. Elaine took the IHM management course, passing it and further developing her skill as a manager.
Kharla studied at the University of Sheffield, qualifying with distinction from the School of Clinical Dentistry in 2010. She also received a prize for excellence in continuing care. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry, providing a high level of care for her patients. She takes care of everything from white fillings and stain removal treatments to help you achieve the happy, healthy mouth you deserve and maintain a high level of oral hygiene. Kharla has been with Cowgate Dentistry since 2010, growing with the practice and playing a key role in its development. Outside of the surgery, Kharla enjoys relaxing with her friends and family, travelling and enjoying walks with her dog on Sunday afternoons.
Sarah Jane has been in the dental industry since 2003. She studied for a degree in BSc Oral Health Science at Glasgow Caledonian University, and qualified with distinction as a dental therapist. In addition to the course, she completed a year’s vocational training. Sarah Jane has experience in cosmetic dentistry as well as being experienced in routine dentistry and is qualified to perform anti-wrinkle treatments, fillers and teeth whitening. She’s great with nervous patient and loves kids. When not in the surgery, Sarah Jane enjoys to travel, read, listen to music and learn languages.
After working as a dental nurse for over 13 years she returned to university and gained a Diploma and Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy from The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2009. She worked in both private and nhs sectors of practice. She has a keen interest in phobic and anxious patients and gained a Diploma in Hypnosis applied to Dentistry from University College London in 2011, after which she obtained a certificate in conscious sedation from SAAD which allows her to administer inhalation sedation to nervous patients. She was also one of 5 dental professionals invited to Leichenstein in 2012 by Ivoclar vivadent to be an opinion leader with Ivoclar assisting and doing lectures and hands on courses. In addition to her clinical work she is also a Professional Educator for Waterpik.
She qualified 2008 from the Glasgow dental hospital and school, National qualification. She gained childsmile qualification in 2009 and was a childsmile nurse for two years in Glasgow before moving to Newcastle. She also was an Infection control lead in many of my practices. Gained experience working in private and NHS practices in Newcastle. Mhair relocated back home to Glasgow in 2017 with my husband and two young children. She has a passion for dental nursing.Outside of work Mhairi enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her two small children keep her very busy.
She qualified as a dental nurse in 2003. Jane has been with the practice for 18 months now and thoroughly enjoys her work. She recently became the practice first aider and is a very passionate and caring dental nurse. Jane strives to make sure the patients receive first class treatment. In her spare time she enjoy running, cycling and caravanning with her partner and 2 boys.
Kirsten joined Cowgate Dental Surgery in March 2018 as a trainee dental nurse. She is loving the experience of trying something completely different with her career. She has fitted in great with everyone at the surgery. Kirsten also enjoys going to the movies and spending time with friends
