NHS Fees

As of November 1st 2023, the NHS fees have changed. If this may affect you, please take a moment to read through the new fee list below. Please be aware that we as a practice have no control over these changes and these are the new fees as set out by NHS Scotland. We thank you for your understanding.

Examinations

  • No charge

Emergency Appointments

  • Emergency appointment – £16.64

Scaling/periodontal treatment

  • Standard scale (please note: polishing and stain removal is considered cosmetic and is no longer provided under the NHS) – £16.64
  • Periodontal treatment starting price (the final cost of treatment will be dependant on your individual needs and how many visits are required) – £32.24

X-Rays/study models

  • Standard intra-oral radiograph – £5.82
  • Digital or cast models (used in orthodontic treatment, bridgework, splints, etc.) – £27.12

Fillings and restorations

  • Fissure sealants – £10.16
  • Composite (white) fillings – starting at £22.48
  • Metal fillings – starting at £13.48

Crown and bridge

  • Stainless steel temporary/provisional crowns – £36.48
  • Standard crown placement (porcelain for front teeth, cast metal for back teeth) – starting at £158.20
  • Post and/or core retention for crowns (this will be on top of the cost for the crown) – £36.48
  • Conventional bridge (per tooth) – £134.00
  • Resin-retained bridge (per unit) – £77.16

Endodontic treatment (root canal treatment)

  • Root canal treatment – starting at £100.64
  • Pulpotomy (root treatment in deciduous teeth) – £22.88
  • Root canal re-treatment additional fee – £46.72
  • Internal bleaching (whitening treatment of root-treated teeth that have darkened in colour over time) – £64.44

Extractions

  • Standard extraction – £30.56
  • Surgical extraction (simple sectioning, buried roots, impacted teeth, etc.) – starting at £58.44

Dentures/prosthetics

  • Acrylic (plastic) partial – starting at £117.04
  • Acrylic (plastic) full clearance (full upper/lower) – £384.96
  • Cobalt chrome (metal) partial – starting at £218.80
  • Special trays (used during the construction process) – £25.54
  • Repairs – £50.88
  • Hard relining – £50.88
  • Soft relining – £67.84
  • Addition of tooth to an existing plate – £50.88
  • Splint (per union, used to stabilise mobile teeth) – £51.72
  • Hard splint (other night/mouth guards) – £115.32
